San Marcos, or San Marvelous as it's referred to by locals truly is a marvel. San Marcos is on the Balcones Fault line which is a fault zone of normal faults creating a transition of the Texas coastal plains and Texas hill country. San Marcos is home to several unique and endangered species that live in the lands and waters fed by the natural springs of the Edwards Aquifer including the Golden Cheeked Warbler, Texas Wild Rice, Texas Blind Salamader, and Fountain Darter to name a few. Spring Lake is formed by the springs at the headwaters of the San Marcos River and is considered to be the longest continually inhabitated area of North America. It serves as the sacred site of the Coahuiltecan people where they celebrate with the Sacred Springs Powwow every year. Come marvel at all Mother Nature has created in this unique ecosystem as you explore San Marcos with Grow As You Flow yoga and mindfulness experiences.
